Along the way, she befriends Patches, a giraffe from Chad, and they encounter bullies while helping a hyena named Pocky by the Atlantic Ocean.
Their quest for gooey gum takes them through France and Spain. By the time they gather enough gum, they stumble upon Frecklopia, a magical place where everyone can be their authentic selves without fear of not fitting in or being bullied. The book highlights the importance of finding a place where one feels truly accepted and celebrated for who they are, freckles and all.
